California Air Resources Board Hearing

(February 13, 2023)

Cleaner Air Now!

We showed up at the California Air Resources Board Hearing on February 13, raising Black voices to speak out for Environmental Justice.

Diesel trucks are linked to higher rates of cancer, asthma, and childhood diseases, and these effects are felt most severely in Black Communities. The California Air Resources Board, the premier clean air regulator in the country, is advancing a regulation that will keep these trucks in our neighborhoods. There are not enough electric vehicles, so CARB will issue exemptions for the diesel trucks polluting the air in our communities.

We want CARB to change the regulation to require the BEST AVAILABLE TECHNOLOGY instead of issuing exemptions to dirty diesel trucks in our neighborhoods.
