Dear Governor Newsom:
On behalf of the California Environmental Justice League, I write to request your signature on Senate Bill 27. This measure will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions by requiring the Natural Resources Agency and other state agencies to increase the adoption of carbon sequestration, chiefly by directing them to establish the Natural and Working Lands Climate Smart Strategy (NWL Strategy). It also directs the California Air Resources board to add carbon sequestration targets to the AB 32 Scoping Plan.
