    Equity and Over-Policing

Over-policing decides who gets pulled over. That shapes insurance rates. The same driving gets priced differently by neighborhood.

    Protect Our Loved Ones

California sees more than 200,000 injury crashes a year. Tools exist that would prevent some of them. We are not using them.

    Affordable Insurance Choices

Rates should follow how you actually drive. Not where you live. Safe drivers in over-policed neighborhoods are paying for someone else's assumptions.

Open Letter · To the Honorable Assemblywoman McKinnor

Dear Assemblywoman McKinnor,

We want to thank you for your leadership on the issue of safe driving. The Environmental Justice League and many individuals were pleased to attend your two district events last year and support your resolution.

A data-driven system can support a more just one. There are good and bad drivers in every neighborhood. Some neighborhoods just receive more police attention. Safe-driver incentives let a person be judged on how they actually drive. That gives policymakers another tool against bias.

Thanks again for your leadership to date. We the undersigned look forward to supporting you as you work to keep more of us alive in 2025 and beyond.
